  Using the Tribal Attribute Concepts Developed in Great Boss Dead Boss 

In response to numerous enquiries and requests from the local corporate market, we are pleased to announce that the GBDB corporate measuring tools have been brought in from the US and are now available in South Africa exclusively through Phaice.

These tools are regarded as the essential first step in implementing the GBDB principles within an organisation in order to grow a corporate SuperTribe. Corporate perceptions about the 23 Tribal Attributes are measured, as well as the state of IS, IV, TS and TV in the organisation. With the results of the evaluation available in graphical format, corporate leaders have a clear picture of the areas that require priority intervention. Knowing where the organisation lies in terms of the Security and Value dimensions, provides a good reading of leadership effectiveness and a pointer as to which kinds of intervention are most likely to move the process forward.

The typical steps that we advise for a full GBDB implementation are:

1.  Grounding: The leadership (management) team gets familiar with the concepts by reading the book.
2.  Pre-planning: A brief planning session with top management to get consensus on the implementation objectives.
3.  Corporate assessment and processing of results
4.  1-day workshop with management: To reinforce principles and evaluate measurement results.
5.  1-day workshops with employees: To reinforce principles, focusing on those attributes prioritised by the measurement process and to engage employees in solution proposals.
6.  Feedback to management
7.  Solution design and implementation
8.  Periodic re-test to monitor progress

In order to ensure that the implementation delivers consistent value to the client, the above process steps are structured to provide an opt-out (“red button”) disengagement option to the client after each step.
